Researchers from the South Western Sydney Local Health District and Western Sydney University are conducting a research study to promote the use of some new guidelines in NSW public dental services. These guidelines recommend that public dental care providers assess children’s weight and height, provide dietary advice, and refer children outside a healthy weight to required services.
If you are a dental therapist, oral health therapist or dental assistant with certificate training, you are eligible to participate in this study.
This study involves completing an online questionnaire on your awareness, practices, attitudes and intention regarding addressing childhood overweight and obesity in the dental setting. The entire questionnaire will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and the information you provide will be strictly confidential. This study has been approved by the South Western Sydney Local Health District Human Research Ethics Committee.
